We are seeking an experienced and motivated
Associate Scientist with strong expertise in
cell culture, assay development, and
automation workflows to contribute to our mission of identifying new small molecule leads for drug discovery.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on, curious, and adaptable scientist who thrives in dynamic, collaborative environments and is passionate about advancing lab automation and digital transformation.

Tasks & Responsibilities - Maintain and operate automated cell culture systems to ensure reliable and reproducible results for HTS and Profiling campaigns.
- Optionally contribute to the design and implementation of a new automated cell culture system with an external vendor.
- Plan and execute automated experiments supporting hit identification and lead optimization cycles through biochemical and cellular assays.
- Coordinate experimental logistics including material ordering, data analysis, and documentation.
- Collaborate within cross-functional assay development teams, including experts in cellular, biochemical/biophysical, MS, and RNA-based assays.
- Continuously expand your skills in lab automation, digital workflows, and data-driven science to help shape the Lab of the Future.
Must Haves - Completed apprenticeship, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in a relevant scientific field (no PhD).
- At least 2 years of experience in large-scale mammalian cell culture and assay development, ideally within a pharmaceutical or biotech environment.
- Strong proficiency in cell-based assays, including setup, execution, and troubleshooting.
- Foundational understanding and interest in laboratory automation and digital workflows.
- Excellent attention to detail and proven ability to troubleshoot assay and automation issues.
- Team-oriented, flexible problem-solver who thrives in an inclusive, dynamic environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with confidence in presenting and conducting meetings.
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
Nice to Haves - Prior experience with automated cell culture systems or lab automation platforms.
- Familiarity with automation scheduling software (e.g., Cellario, GreenButtonGo) and data analysis tools (e.g., Genedata, Spotfire, D360).
